A Minnesota based warehousing and freight logistics company
was looking for a dispatch and accounting software program
to improve efficiencies and profitability. Before making
a decision, the owner attended the annual executive conference
sponsored by Computerized Management Systems, Inc. and
Carriernet Group Financial.
At the conference, he learned about the Truckwin Dispatch
and Accounting software and how the accounting information
is used in the Nickel per Mile
Profit Program.
The company was factoring freight bills with a local
business credit company for 1.75% of the gross freight
bill and was receiving an 85% advance on each one. The
company was growing rapidly and factoring over $250,000.
They were unable to find commercial bank financing. The company was growing too fast and not making sufficient
profits to entice a commercial bank to get involved.
Working with the financial consultant, the company was
able to install Truckwin Dispatch and Accounting software
and begin generating current, accurate and complete financial statements
on a per mile basis. Within 6 months the company was profitable even though
factoring, billing and collecting fees were costing the company over $53,000 annually.
Within 12 months, using the management tools and financial ratios
provided to them through the Nickel per Mile Profit
Program, the company was able to reach 5.2 cents
per mile profit.
Just 18 months later, the owners approached the business
credit company. The company re-negotiated the line of
credit. They were able to increase the line from $200,000
to $250,000 and obtain a 3% over prime lending rate. This generated additional
profit of over $25,000 the following year.
