The Truckwin Dispatch, Accounting and Management System

Shippernet.com is a web site that integrates with the Truckwin Dispatch system.  Transport Carriers view network loads at the site directly from the Truckwin Dispatch Module.  A desirable load can be marked and downloaded directly to the pending dispatch board within Truckwin.  All pertinent load detail information, telephone numbers etc. is provided at the site. Out-of-network loads are also provided and can be viewed by going to our free load board located at http://shippernet.com/shippernetnonnetwork.asp   Hundreds of shippers post loads and shipments directly to the site for viewing by our national network of transport carriers.

In addition, directly from the Dispatch Module available equipment capacities can also be exported 24/7 for viewing by shippers at http://shippernet.com/viewequipment.asp .  If you are using the Truckwin Truck Tracking Plus system a driver can also key in from a GPS data phone any available weight and space capacities that will be posted within 15 minutes of submission.

The Truckwin Accounting and Management system has been specifically designed for both asset based and non-asset based transportation companies.  The applications programs and the chart of accounts will work for a transport carrier, a brokerage company, or independent agents. The Truckwin Dispatch and Accounting System can run on an in-house system or a carrier can use an online application at our Data Center.

The Chart of Accounts has been specifically designed for both asset and non-asset based carriers and has been used for over 20 years.  The system of accounts breaks the accumulation of transportation costs into five significant cost categories that have behavioral patterns uniquely found only in the truckload transportation industry.  The objective of this system design is twofold:

  •   To provide current accurate and complete historical financial statements for our network carriers.

  •   To provide management tools and ratios that will improve future financial performance.

The Truckwin General Ledger integrated system and related financial statement reports accomplish the first objective.  Financial reports generate historical balance sheets and income statements for multiple months and years.  In addition an income statement reports are generated on a percentage of revenue and on a revenue per mile basis for multiple months and years.

This financial information is used to accomplish the second objective.  Our proprietary Nickel Per Mile Profit Program.  This program designed for owners and management concentrates on providing network carriers with the per mile cost data, accounting ratios, decision analysis and managerial concepts that target improved financial performance.  Performance designed to generate a nickel or more profit per mile after tax and a return on invested capital of 20% or more.

To accomplish these two objectives the Truckwin chart of accounts has five separate costs classifications that are specifically designed to yield significant financial decision-making information. Using these five categories a number of key management decisions are gleaned from the financial information.  Key decision making information can be determined using the program. Decisions and answers to questions such as:

What are my over the road line haul costs?

What are my transportation margins?

What are my fixed line haul costs?

What are my shop costs?

What does it cost to administer my operations?

How many miles must we run to breakeven?

How much revenue do we need to generate per mile to breakeven?

What are my variable transport costs per mile?

How much is it costing us to run an empty mile?

How much revenue do we need to breakeven? Generate a targeted profit?

How much before tax? After state and federal taxes?

If I change my deadhead mile ratio, how much difference will it make in my transportation margins? My profit?

If I add an additional truck, what effect will it have on my bottom line?

How will it effect my operations to stop serving a customer?

What will it take to cash flow an additional truck?

What is my return on invested capital?

What are the key ratios and which ones should I be concerned about?

How can I make a quick calculation of the cash flow I am generating from my operations?

How should I structure the financing of my tractors and trailers?

When should I consider adding a shop facility?

When should I add a dispatcher?
